These three children are just darling. I wish we would have had more time before we lost our light! I can't believe how short the days are getting! I guess that means it's fall, which makes me happy! Anyways, it was a pleasure doing this shoot! I hope I didn't go too overboard with the editing. You never know what kind of mood I'll get in...



















The next picture just shows the pure honesty of the situation. We ran out of time to get the kids all together, and this is the only one I got of the two girls. Even though they look sad and cold, I still think it is so sweet.

Mine

I know I shouldn't be working on these pictures just yet, but I had to edit just one tonight. I've been wanting my own family pictures for SO long, and finally I made my Dad come out with us to some of Russ's family property to help snap some for us. My dad is one of the reasons I got so interested in photography! He used to do it as a hobby as well (back in the film days--so he didn't have it as easy as us digital people!) Out of about 140 shots, this is one of the best in which the kids are actually looking in the general direction of the camera and not trying to run away!

{ashlyn...and other ramblings}

Here are the rest of beautiful Ashlyn! Sorry it took so long...I swear I had the swine flu! We have just been a sick house over here. I haven't gone a single place or even done my hair or makeup for an entire week now. Russ is the only one to not have gotten sick...yet. The TOU Marathon is on Saturday, and hopefully he will hold out so he can still run! Anyways, enough about us. Enjoy the preview of this cutie!

Oh WAIT!!! I almost forgot!! By the way...I got a NEW camera!!!!! A Canon 5d! Yep, got it the night before this shoot. I'm not sure I liked some of the settings I had it on, but look forward to practicing more with it soon. It's been a bummer week, because I haven't even been able to get it out and fool around with it. Plus, my shoot Monday got rained out (I was probably too sick anyway). And my kids have such snot-noses and droopy baggy eyes that they are in no condition for a photo shoot....but they will be soon, whether they like it or not! I can't wait to get out and use it more. Now I'm really done talking...

8 years ago today...

I am sure everyone remembers exactly where they were and what they were doing 8 years ago this morning...But amid the horror of that day, one of the most special things came about that day: Ashlyn was born and was later unselfishly placed, by her birth mother, into the loving arms of my Aunt and Uncle In Law. Isn't she the most beautiful blessing? And now she is about ready to be baptized!

I wish I had more of her pictures ready to show, but I have been so sick the last couple of days; but I just had to post at least one picture today on her birthday. Now it's back off to bed to await some hot and sour soup that my loving husband has gone to find me! Love you, Ashlyn!
